Writing Contest Open!

Updated: Apr 8

“When in April the sweet showers fall

That pierce March’s drought to the root and all

And bathed every vein in liquor that has power

To generate therein and sire the flower.”

~ Geoffrey Chaucer

Realizing that even Chaucer back in the 14th century was trying to find the silver lining of the oppressive onslaught of gray rainclouds that are the characteristic harbingers of Spring, did brighten my rainy day just a bit. Spring is my absolute favorite season (obviously not due to the rain). The fresh smell of growing things, the hours of sunlight increasing by the day, and less and less need for wearing excessive outer layers. Do you find that the season of the year influences what kind of books you are interested in reading? If so, check out the Community Activity below!

Summer Writing Contest Begins: The Summer 2024 Windows into the Multiverse Contest has begun accepting submissions! The photo found on the "Contest" page of our website is of the silhouette of a man standing on a beach during sunset. To participate, you are asked to write a micro-story beginning with “Through the window, I saw...” using the photo below as inspiration. The only restriction on your creativity is that you keep your micro-story clean. All genres are accepted. Submissions will open April 1-30. Please keep your submission to between 1,000 and 1,500 words. To submit your story fill out the form found on the “Contests” page of our website (cleanfictionmagazine.com). We will not use your micro-stories without your permission and the winner/s will be sent pages for approval. The winner/s will appear in our June 20th Summer Edition along with the image on this page. Depending on the number of submissions we receive, there will be either winners in several genre categories OR an overall winner. Winners will be announced on May 9th. Each winner or the overall winner will receive a $20 Amazon Gift Card and an author feature ($40 value). The winner/s will be decided by the Clean Fiction staff and excerpts of each submission may be used for promotional purposes. We cannot wait to read what you write about this new image and are excited to read your submissions! This Contest is Sponsored by the Strangers & Aliens Podcast (StrangersAndAliens.com) and Author C.S. Wachter (CSWachter.com).

A New Opportunity: Make sure you check out the April 5th Blimey Cow Podcast to show your support! Who knows? You might enjoy the podcast as much as I do ; D
