About the event
If you are a teen writer and you are struggling to take the first step of submitting to publishers or contests, Lantern Lighters 2026 is for you.
We want middle grade and young adult short stories from emerging, unique voices in the industry. Our inaugural Lantern Lighters writing contest is committed to championing teen writers who are penning stories for young readers.
Submissions open May 1st and close September 1st.
