Tomorrow I head off to my very first Realm Makers Conference. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is a gathering of Christian Fantasy and Science Fiction Authors/Businesses. Some would call these fringe genres, but the demand for these types of books is steadily growing.
I am going to the Conference specifically to get the word out about Clean Fiction magazine. I do hope to meet some of the authors that we have supported over the past year as well as some of the businessmen/women I have been chatting with as well, but this is not my main object. This would be my first time away from all of my kids since my son was born 8 years ago, and I don't know when or if I will be able to have the opportunity to go again so I want to make it count.
I am also planning on using the time away from children to work on my main WIP "Cadogan" without being interrupted. Being an early riser married to a night owl, I should have plenty of time to myself with which to do this.
I suppose I am hoping for both a restful time as well as a productive time, and ironically being productive is rather restful for me. Weird, I know, but that is just how I am wired.
What about you? Do you prefer an active or passive version of vacationing? My answer would be both.
Welp, I hate to chat and run, but I still have packing to do! Until tomorrow then!
